This photo is me in the MACHU PICCHU (machoo peechoo) temple, the middle of three "windows".
When I went to MACHU PICCHU this summer I was amazed. On the
Andes mountain there were giant stone houses that made up a village called the
lost city. The stones were dry- fit, put together without any cement, like a
big puzzle for each structure. You could smell the earth on the terraces. The
terraces are made of big stones surrounding the earth and smaller layers of
sand and gravel and clay then fresh soil on top for farming. Potato is native
to south America and can be grown on terraces. I could feel the warmth of the
sun on the back of my neck. But there were also warm breezes from the clouds
that were passing by. I heard other tourists and guides talking about the
history in other languages.
