Tech

Kabir Kapadia
Researchers from MIT have created a life substance that can be interlocked. A cool feature is that the substance is recyclable. The parts might be used for robots, wings on airplanes, aqueducts  giant levees or cars. One idea for manufacturing the parts is using 3-D printing. Boeing might be able to get involved in using it for aerospace engineers.  The composites are all made out of fiber, cellular material and other metallic elements. Once they figured out how to manufacture these products they thought to themselves ‘Is it even possible to 3-D print an airplane?’. Another idea is to make tiny insect like robots. They will assemble themselves into lattice like patterns called Cubocts (see picture below). There is almost a zero percent chance that the Cubocts will become undone on their own. It's like a belt buckle; it locks into place. The only way to get it undone is to pull it at an angle in the opposite direction.
